Good for the Future

New Forms of Agricultural Produce to Support the Future of Food

Innovative reforms in distribution and food preservation technologies have propelled the value of vegetables beyond their fresh states. Freeze-dried vegetables and frozen vegetables have given new value to the deliciousness and nutrition of fresh vegetables. Our initiatives featured here show how such advancements can enrich the dining tables of households 10 years into the future.

Frozen Vegetables of the Taniyama Brand

Since 2020, food trends like eating at home and making pre-cooked dishes have taken root. This has significantly changed the value of frozen vegetables, which can be used easily at home. Furthermore, efforts to reduce food loss have also led to a worldwide focus on how we can transport delicious frozen vegetables.
Freezing technologies have improved greatly compared to the past. This allows us to offer frozen vegetables that hardly taste any different from fresh vegetables and even offer the same level of nutrition as when they were first harvested.
The best of fresh vegetables and the best of frozen vegetables. By offering both values, we hope to deliver agricultural products that are good for the people and good for the environment.

*Sonoriku's freezing technologies
The method we use to freeze vegetables is by placing them in vacuum packages and freezing them in -30°C liquid (alcohol). Liquid freezes products at about 20 times the speed of gas. This form of rapid freezing minimizes the ice crystals that form on the food's cells, which allows us to produce frozen vegetables that are extremely close to their fresh states.

Frozen asparagus

When asparagus is stored in its raw state, it loses a lot of its freshness and nutrition. Frozen asparagus, on the other hand, retains its nutrition and deliciousness.

Cooking ideas

  • Heat the frozen asparagus in the microwave and add it to your salad, as a side dish or as a topping to other dishes. Since it was frozen right after being harvested, you can enjoy its fresh deliciousness.
  • Coat the frozen asparagus with batter and breadcrumbs and deep fry.
There will be minimal oil popping and the asparagus will come out soft and delicious.
  • Add the frozen asparagus to a pan of stir-fried vegetables or into a soup. Enjoy all of its nutrition.

Frozen okra

Okra is best when it's in season. Our Thai-grown frozen okra has soft outer skin and you can fully enjoy its freshly-harvested deliciousness and stickiness. Sticky vegetables are said to be good for your health and now you can add them to your dining table any time you want.

We are also engaged in research on how to process vegetables and fruits that are prohibited by the Japanese plant quarantine to be imported in their fresh states (for example, langsat, longan, salak, guava). We are looking to find ways to deliver the deliciousness of produce that is difficult to find in Japan by transforming them into new products. By doing so, we can offer new ways of enjoying food that will benefit both the producers in Thailand as well as the consumers in Japan.

To Support Agriculture and Food 10 Years into the Future

We cannot live without eating. To create a form of agriculture that will continue to provide a stable supply of food to our children and grandchildren, we have to develop the industry so that it fully benefits not just the consumers but also all the farmers growing the products in the fields in Thailand.
Sonoriku has contracts with around 1,000 farms in Thailand. By growing produce, they are able to enrich their lives, and thanks to their hard work, we are able to enjoy delicious vegetables. Our mission at Sonoriku is to build this relationship of co-dependence between production and distribution.
Based on market standards, we engage in production management, technical training, product planning, distribution, market development and marketing as a one-stop company committed to delivering the bounties grown in the fields of Thailand to your dining tables. As such, we are in constant pursuit of an ideal agricultural industry that will continue 10 years and 20 years into the future.
